Meet Katelyn, our very first Sales Engineer Apprentice. She works for Z+F USA and is successfully selling really cool 3D Laser Scanners. As part of her Apprenticeship Program she visited an Expo in Germany to represent Z+F and received an award for ranking 2nd in worldwide sales for her company. We are thrilled and very proud to have her in our program and setting a good example for our new cohort of Sales Engineer Pre-Apprentices.

We are proud to be able to award the "Apprentice of the Year" award for the first time to Andrew Johnson! Not only was he brave enough to join us in our pilot program and started as first GACC apprentice at VEKA Inc,, he now is a huge advocate for our program and helps us to spread the word about the opportunities that come with the program.

He helped us recruit several other apprentices and functions as a mentor with his experience he gained over the past one and a half years and his outgoing and charming personality. Andrew is not shy to give us feedback about the apprenticeship program. His feedback is very much appreciated and helped us to continuously improve the training conditions, classroom training and much more.

We cannot express how thankful we are to have Andrew in our program and how proud we are to see him grow and mature.

Our biggest event of the years is coming up! And since you already know Germans are crazy about Spargus, here are some facts about Spargelhof Schulze, our spargel farm in Germany!

The region where the farm is located is called “Die Pflaz” and is part of the German state “Rheinland-Pfalz” in the west of the country. Due to its mild climate and fertile soil it is also called the “vegetable garden of Germany”. Next to farm that grow asparagus one can also find vineyards, fields with figs, almonds, cypresses and all kinds of vegetables. The region is internationally known for its tasteful food and wine.

The Spargelhof Schulze is located in a region that is known for its high quality asparagus and is called the Vorderpfalz (yellow region on the map). The farm was founded in 1978 and is specialized in growing asparagus sustainably ever since.

Before the event, the asparagus will be harvested by hand during night, so it is not exposed to the sunlight, packed on ice and then shipped to Frankfurt Airport. From there a Lufthansa machine will fly the Asparagus over the Atlantic to New York City. Our Sponsor and partner Emotrans will be in charge to transport the Spargel from NYC to our beloved city of Pittsburgh as fast as possible, so you can enjoy a fresh menu with the best asparagus!
